101 things in 1001 days revisited:

It has been nearly two years since I have started this list. Time to catch up on what I have accomplished:

  1. Drink 2 glasses of water daily.
  2. Add one vegetarian meal to the menu each cycle (every two weeks)
  3. Take a cooking class
  4. Take a continuing education class for a new skill - completed
  5. contribute to an open source project (either software skills or monetary)
  6. master bathroom - finish caulking shower area
  7. master bathroom - finish caulking sink area
  8. master bathroom - replace vinyl shower curtain - completed
  9. master bedroom - new curtains - completed
  10. master bedroom - sort boxes
  11. master bedroom - remove wallpaper boarder
  12. master bedroom - paint walls
  13. master bedroom - new bed - completed
  14. den - furniture layout
  15. den - curtains - completed
  16. den - paint
  17. volunteer in the community
  18. take a family vacation to a new destination never visited before

  70. investigate online master's degree programs (MBA/CIS) - ongoing
  71. call home once a month
  72. eat breakfast three times a week
  73. investigate mediation techniques
  74. learn about yoga - completed
  75. learn about Buddhism - completed
  76. learn about Hinduism
  77. take a random day off to spend with the kids
  78. create a workspace outdoors with cover (for nice days and laptop work)
  79. take a 10 minute break in the morning
  80. use flea/tick meds on animals monthly
  81. randomly call an old friend to see how they are doing
  82. keep domain names paid for and up to date - completed
  83. keep home computers in working order -always ongoing
  84. go one month without using a credit card (debit or business doesn't count against) - completed
  85. spend one night a week without watching television
  86. have a family game night once a month
  87. participate in earth hour 2008 - completed
  88. place at least 6% of paycheck into 401k account -ongoing
  89. attend a colleague luncheon in Brentwood - completed
  90. learn to play guitar - attempted
  91. donate money to annual Clarkson fund drive for Alumni - ongoing
  92. get mom's fried rice recipe and make chili and fried rice for dinner - completed
  93. plan vacation time to bake holiday cookies and share with friends/family - completed
  94. maintain good attitude towards work -ongoing
  95. help homeschool program thrive, as long as it continues working -ongoing
  96. encourage positive behavior in the children
  97. pay all bills on time - ongoing
  98. revisit allowance program for kids -completed
  99. spend special one on one time with Kelly, maintain good marriage/communication
  100. donate $2 for every missed item to Maury County Library projects
  101. create a new 101 list when this is completed.
This list will complete at the beginning of September 2010. I will work on the new list to begin again in January of 2011 at that time. Challenge yourself to build your own list and have the courage to stretch the boundaries and see what you can do.

101 Things in 1001 Days

Just after New Year's Day, I was told about this project, 101 things in 1001 days (http://www.triplux.com/dayzero/default.asp) where you set goals not just for the year, but for the next 2 2/3 years. It took a very long time and it was quite a challenge but I was able to come up with the list. These are not in order of importance, but as I thought of them or added them. A lot of these items are stretching the limits, others are things that I want to do or want to continue to do if I do them already.
